Types of Houses in Astrology
Angles or Kendra Houses :-1st.4th,7th and 10th.
Trines or Trikona Houses :-1st,5th and 9th.
Succedent or Panapara Houses :-2nd,5th,8th and 11th.
Cadent or Apoklima Houses :-3rd,6th,9th and 12th.
Upachya or Favourable Houses :-3rd,6th,10th and 11th.
Evil or Trik Houses :-6th,8th and 12th.
Death inflicting or Marak Houses :-2nd and 7th.
The twelve houses are known an Tanu (physique),Dhana
(Wealth),Sahaja(Younger brother/Sister),Matru(Mother),
Putra(Progeny),Ari(Enemies),Kalatra(Spouse),Ayur(Lon-
gevity),Dharma(Religion),Karma(Livelihood),Labha(Gains)
and Vyay(losses).
In terms of native's life, the kendras denotes childhood, the
Panaparas denote middle age and A poklimas denote old age.
The 1st to 8th house relate to one's marital life, the 9th to 11th
pertain to religious or moral beliefs and 12th house deals with
other world i.e. Moksha.
Classification of Houses:-
Trikonas:-1,5,9:
Trikonas and their Lord are the most auspicious houses in the chart.
The trikonas are dharmasthanas.They bring spirituality,knowledge,
goodness,generosity and well being if they are well placed and
unafflicted.
Kendras:-1,4,7,10:
Kendras and their Lord are considered auspicious as they represent
some of the most important and fundamental areas of our lives- body and innate nature, home and mother, marrige and relation-
ships, our position in society(profession/status)
Evil or Trik Houses:-6,8,12:
Are concidered to be the three Evil houses of suffering (dusthanas).
These houses and their lord bring difficulties, suffering, worries,
obstacle,isolation, enemies, lawsuit, accident and death like
experience into our life.
Upachaya Houses:-3,6,10,11
The upachaya houses are the best house placements for the natural
malefic planets. they are also concidered ''growing" houses because
they are said to improve with time as the person gets older.
Marak Houses:-2,7
Are marakas(Killers) due to their owing 12th from 3rd and 8th(the
house of longevity). Planets occupying or owing these houses can
cause death during their dasha. If they operate before the time of death is promised, they can bring death like suffering, disturbance
of health.
